Questions
How do I turn a monthly salary into an hourly wage?
A month has 52 divided by 12, about 4.33 weeks on average. At 40 hours a week that is about 173.3 hours. Divide your gross salary by those hours to get your hourly wage.
What is the minimum wage in Germany in 2026?
Since 1 January 2026 the statutory minimum wage is 13.90 euros gross per hour. From 1 January 2027 it rises to 14.60 euros. It applies to almost all employees aged 18 or over, expats included.
Does holiday or Christmas pay count?
The calculator only uses your fixed monthly salary. If you get extra payments, your real hourly wage is a little higher. Divide your yearly gross by twelve and use that amount instead.
