Questions

How much can I earn in a minijob in 2026?

The limit is 603 euros a month in 2026. It is tied to the minimum wage of 13.90 euros an hour, which is just over 43 hours a month. Above that, the job becomes a midijob.

What do I pay myself in a minijob?

In a business you pay a 3.6% pension contribution, in a private household 13.6%. If you earn less than 175 euros, that amount is used as the minimum base. You can ask to be exempt from the pension contribution.

What does the midijob range do for me?

Between 603.01 and 2,000 euros your social insurance is charged on a reduced amount. Just above 603 euros your share is close to zero and it rises to the full rate at the top. Your pension still counts your full pay.

Do expats pay wage tax on a minijob?

Usually the employer pays a flat 2% tax, so no tax comes off your pay. The calculator assumes this. If your employer taxes the job by your tax class, the result can differ.
