Questions
How do I resize a photo without stretching it?
Keep Keep proportions ticked and change only the width or only the height; the other follows. To get a different shape such as a square, turn on Crop so the extra edges are cut off instead of the picture being squashed.
What size should I use for Instagram or YouTube?
Choose Sizes and pick the service. The tool shows the exact pixels it will use, for example 1080 x 1080 for a square Instagram post and 1280 x 720 for a YouTube thumbnail. Services update their advice now and then.
Why does a bigger size look blurry?
Enlarging has to invent pixels that were never in the photo, so the picture gets softer, not sharper. You get a warning whenever the new size is larger than the original.
Is my photo uploaded when I resize it?
No. Resizing happens on this page and the photo stays on your device. The saved copy carries no location data from the original.
