JPG or PNG, which one should I pick?
JPG is much smaller and is what most upload forms ask for. PNG keeps every pixel but the files are usually several times larger.
Is anything lost when converting?
JPG is a little more compressed, so quality 90 or higher is hard to tell apart from the original. Dates and camera details are not carried over, and the photo is saved the right way up.
Why does my file say it is not a HEIC photo?
Some apps rename JPG or PNG files to .heic, and some .heic files hold something else. We check the file itself and tell you what it really is.
Is it safe to convert private photos here?
Yes. Nothing is sent to a server: the conversion happens on this page and the photos never leave your device.
