Questions
What is a weighted average?
Each value is multiplied by its weight, the products are added up and the sum is divided by the total weight. Values with a larger weight pull the result closer to them.
Do the weights have to add up to 100?
No. Only their ratios matter, so weights of 1, 2 and 3 work the same as 10, 20 and 30. Percentages, credits or hours all work.
What if a weight is 0?
That value is left out of the result. If every weight is 0, there is nothing to average and a message tells you.
