Does this tool send my text or PDF anywhere?
No. The text is searched on this page only, so what you paste or open, and what is found in it, never leaves your device.
How reliable is the detection?
Card numbers, IBANs and many ID numbers are checked against their official check digits. Emails, phone numbers and some IDs are matched by pattern only and can be wrong. Always read the result.
Does it find names and addresses?
No. It looks for emails, phone numbers, card numbers, IBANs and ID numbers, which follow fixed patterns. Names and street addresses have none, so read the text for those yourself.
Can it read a scanned PDF?
Only PDFs with real text. A scan is a picture without text, so nothing is found. In that case, cover private parts with the Redact PDF tool.
