Questions
Which image types can I turn into a PDF?
Anything your browser can display, such as JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and BMP. A file it cannot open is skipped and named in a message, so the others still go through.
Will my photos lose quality in the PDF?
A JPG that is already upright goes into the PDF exactly as it is, without being compressed again. Other formats are converted once: PNG stays lossless and the rest are saved as high-quality JPG.
What does Fit to image do?
Each page takes the exact shape of its picture, so nothing is cropped and no white edges are added. With Letter or A4 the picture is scaled to fit inside the margins and centred.
Will phone photos be the right way up?
Yes. Photos taken in portrait are turned upright using the rotation stored in the file, so they do not end up sideways in the PDF.
