Score needed on the final

How to use it

  1. Enter each score as a percentage and its weight in the course.
  2. Read your current grade. If weights do not add up to 100, the result is scaled to what you entered.
  3. Fill in the final's weight and your target to see the score you need.

Questions

How is the course grade calculated?

Each score is multiplied by its weight, the results are added up and divided by the total weight. A 90 worth 20 and a 70 worth 20 give 80.

How is the score needed on the final worked out?

Needed = (target minus current grade times the share already graded) divided by the final's share. The rows above are treated as everything except the final.

What does the letter grade mean?

It uses the common US scale: 90 and above is A, 80 B, 70 C, 60 D, below 60 F. Your school or teacher may use different cut-offs.
