Random seating chart generator
Set up the room, paste the names and get a random seating plan. Block seats you cannot use and add simple rules.
How to use it
- Paste the names and set the number of rows and columns. Tap a seat to block it.
- Optionally list pairs to keep apart and people who should sit at the front.
- Press Assign seats, press it again for a new plan, and copy the result.
Questions
Is the seating really random?
Yes. Seats are drawn with your device's secure random number generator. Rules only restrict who may sit where, and inside those limits the choice is random.
What does keep apart mean?
People in a pair never end up in the same row, so they are not side by side or on the same line. Write each pair on its own line with a dash between the names.
Why did it say the rules cannot be met?
The rules are too tight for the room, for example too many people in the front row or a pair that cannot be separated. Add rows or seats, or remove a rule.
Does my seating plan leave this page?
No. Everything stays on this page and is gone when you close it.
