Comment picker for giveaways
Paste the comments, one per line with the username first, and draw winners you can prove were fair.
How to use it
- Paste the comments, one per line, with the username first (for example maya_k Count me in @sam @lee).
- Set the number of winners, any rules, and note or share the seed before you draw.
- Press Draw. Anyone with the same comments and seed gets the same winners.
Questions
How can people check the draw was fair?
The draw runs from a seed number shown on the page. Share the seed before drawing, and anyone who pastes the same comments with the same seed and settings gets the same winners.
How are usernames read from the comments?
The first word of each line is the username, with or without @ or a colon. Letters, digits, dots, underscores and hyphens are accepted. Lines that start with anything else are skipped.
What do the options do?
Counting every comment as a ticket gives more comments more chances. The tag rule counts @names after the username and drops anyone below your minimum. Nobody can win twice.
Does it work with names in other alphabets?
Yes, tick the box for names in other alphabets. It is off by default so that the first word of a pasted comment does not turn into a participant.
